Popular Nigerian comedian Ayo Makun, widely known as AY, has officially broken his silence following intense backlash and scam allegations from angry fans after his scheduled show in Cardiff, United Kingdom, ended in chaos.
Ticket holders of his “AY Live: Single and Not Searching” UK tour expressed outrage on social media, accusing the entertainer of a “no-show” after waiting for hours at the Valegate Retail Park venue without seeing him perform. Eyewitness accounts described growing frustration among the audience, which led to heated arguments and eventual police intervention before many disappointed attendees abandoned the hall.
Addressing the allegations in a public statement, AY strongly denied scamming his supporters and attributed the issue entirely to financial disagreements with local event organizers. He explained that he and his fellow comedians traveled to Cardiff and were ready to perform, but unresolved payment commitments delayed their appearance until around 10:00 PM. By the time a sponsor intervened and they entered the stage area, most of the audience had already departed.
Expressing deep regret, AY apologized to his fans, emphasizing that they deserved timely communication and proper organization rather than being caught in a payment dispute. He urged affected ticket holders to request refunds through official ticket vendors or initiate bank chargebacks. Additionally, AY called on the UK tour management to immediately resolve the issue, noting that he is considering legal action regarding the incident.
